Heating without polluting and using renewable energy sources only: the future is now thanks to hydrogen. Our H₂ydroGEM hydrogen-based heat generator produces thermal energy by combining hydrogen to oxygen and exploits the power of this reaction to heat the entire house.
The first domestic hydrogen-fueled heating system ever is based on a catalytic burner working on gaseous hydrogen. A self-triggering catalyzer starts the oxidation phase inside the reaction duct with no need for electric energy. Hydrogen in low concentrations combines to the atmospheric air and triggers a reaction which produces thermal energy, that is heat. This heat is recovered by a series of exchangers and used to heat water and the domestic spaces.
The flameless, CO₂-free catalytic reaction takes place at about 300°C, and therefore also prevents the formation of harmful nitrous oxides (NOx); the only waste resulting from the reaction is water vapor, which can be released in the atmosphere at no risk.
In 2005 and 2010 we patented our hydrogen-based combustion and production methods in an integrated system: two significant milestones to create our ecofriendly domestic heating systems that do not rely on fossil fuels.
From the first bulky 6-burner prototypes, over the years we have perfectioned our technology, planning single-burner models that were more compact, efficient, and safe, up to the current H₂ydroGEM with its enhanced functions and design: it weighs only 40 kg and features a nominal thermal power of 5 kW.
